Property information

This mansion is set in Pays-de-Bray peaceful country-side, surrounded by Normandy groves. We are in the Bresle Valley near the Mont-Gournoy wood, which is the starting point for superb hiking to the Eu forest.

Neufchâtel-En-Bray, the former capital of Pays-de-Bray, is only 13 km away. Along with its small shops, the town has a beautiful market held every Saturday morning, a cinema, theater and a swimming pool. For an outing to the casino or to the spa,  Forges-Les-Eaux, , is only a 20 minutes drive.

Our country house is an old farmhouse built in 1870. It has kept all its outbuildings, including a barn and  a pigsty of about 200 m² surface area. A one hectare fenced ground is today divided into garden, orchard and meadow. The dwelling house is built on three levels, brick walls with slate or large tiles roofing. On the ground floor, an entrance hall serves a large living room with fireplace, a kitchen, an office or bedroom, a bathroom. The characterful staircase takes you up to the first floor whith its 4 bedrooms and bathroom.  A large attic, on the second floor  gives potential for extension.

The square construction of this mansion is extended on each side by an annex, also in brick. On one side, a cosy duplex apartment with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and a bedroom allows to receive family or friends independently. At the other end, a utility space houses the fuel boiler and  the wood boiler. A large shed divided into a workshop and two garages, makes it possible to shelter two vehicles and a camper van.

Over one hectare land is closed on the street side, by a low wall and a wrought iron gate. The tree-lined lawn extends to the facade. The back of this country house is planted with fruit trees and flowers. At the back of the orchard, a small gate opens into a meadow where an ancient barn could be restored. The old pigsty is in good condition and could be reconfigured with no major renovation work.

45 minutes from Rouen, Dieppe and from the beaches of the Côte,d'Albatre, this large house could be the ideal second home  for city dwellers looking for peace and quietness . As a main residence, there's easy access to  Amiens, Abbeville and Rouen. Calais is less than a 2 hours drive, Paris only a 2 hours drive and to go to Brussels would take 2 hours and fifty minutes.
