Built in the enclosure of an old abbey dating from the reign of William the Conqueror, belonging to a Benedictine community in the twelfth and thirteenth century, the priory for sale is a charming artist's house. At the beginning of the last century an architect of great talent, Henri Jacquelin, was asked because of his capacity to rebuild buildings Anglo-Norman or Flemish from old materials while relying on the modern techniques allowed by the steel and concrete. The atypical side does not alter the functional and comfortable character of this country house.
On the ground floor, the three living rooms have retained the original woodwork and floors. The large open kitchen is a place of conviviality. Family and friends meet there for long breakfasts. The village baker provides the breads and pastries that go well for Sunday morning brunch. From the living room, one reaches the gallery by which the monks went to the church. Today, it has become a covered terrace for dining under cover during wet evenings. The bedroom and the bathroom on the ground floor are reserved for parents who can come alone without children, without having to heat the floor. But the other four rooms will comfortably accommodate the family. An activity of guest rooms is possible, especially in the master bedroom which has a terrace lit by the rising sun.
